What Curio is

Curio is a free, human-kept catalogue of the web — currently 789 websites sorted by hand into 22 friendly categories. It follows the spirit of the classic early-web directories: sites are organised by topic by people, not ranked by an opaque algorithm, so you can browse and discover rather than guess search terms.

Editorial & review policy

Every submission is looked over by a human before it appears. We check that a site is real, reachable, and on the right shelf, and we pull a short description from the site itself so each listing is honest about what it offers. We don't accept malware, deceptive pages, or thin doorway sites.

Listings carry rel="nofollow" on outbound links — Curio is a directory, not a link-selling scheme. We keep the shelves tidy by hand specifically so the collection stays useful instead of turning into link spam.

Free, forever

Listing your website is completely free. There's no paid tier, no "express review" fee, and no upsell. Curio grows because real owners share real sites.

Who keeps it

Curio is tended by a small editorial team who review submissions and curate the categories. Spotted a listing that's wrong, dead, or on the wrong shelf? Let us know and we'll happily fix it.

Add your site

If you run a legitimate website, you can pop it on a Curio shelf in under a minute — choose a category, paste your URL, and we'll handle the description.
